OUR COACHES

Othmane Kabbadj

We’d like to introduce you to Othmane Kabbadj (Coach Otto). Othmane starting his journey at one of the most famous football clubs in Africa; Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca. Starting at U5 he played all the through to U18. Wydad started Othmane’s journey in soccer and grew his love of the game. He learned the technical skills, how to level up intensity and the value of team work. These life lessons have helped him through his entire life. Othmane moved to France 🇫🇷 to complete his studies in Auditing and Finance. While studying, Othmane continued his love of soccer by playing for two clubs at the semi-professional level; Noisy-le sec & Aubervilliers competing in CFA2 league , each for two years. Upon finishing his degree Othmane decide to immigrate to Canada. This began his journey to starting his own soccer club.
Othmane’s coaching experience began with the Vancouver Whitecaps; coaching with them for four years. Under Bart Choufour and Emma Murphy, Othmane coached boys and girls Academy and Prospect teams. Over the next several years he coached with FC Barcelona, Mountain United and Fusion FC; further enhancing his (HP) coaching and club management skills. Othmane continues to provide leadership coaching to his club coaches and enjoys engaging with all Field Art FC players; from U5 to U15.
On the technical side; Othmane holds a Canadian National B License and CAF B license from Morocco as well as several certificates from Barcelona FC (Neuroscience and Team training certificate) and BC Soccer. These licenses offer Othmane an extensive amount of knowledge that supports his coaching methodology.

Marcel De Jong

Marcel de Jong is a Canadian international with a Dutch background. Marcel enjoyed a long, successful career in the MLS and the top tiers of European football earning many accolades along the way. Representing the Canadian National team on more than 55 occasions is something Marcel holds as one of his most valued career highlights. Marcel spent his entire youth career playing for PSV Eindhoven before signing for Helmond Sport, Roda JC, Augsburg, Kansas City, Ottawa Fury, Vancouver Whitecaps and Pacific FC. Off the field, Marcel has served as president of the Player’s union for the Canadian Premier League and as a proud member of the global council Fifpro. With a desire to continue to give back to the community from which he has gained so much, Marcel has shifted his focus to coaching and development of young athletes.
